Legacy Kicks
The James Greenop Legacy KICKS Project is a community based football project set up in partnership with Everton in the Community and Prescot Soccer Centre. Together we offer 2 hours of football every Friday night between 5 and 7 and is FREE to all who want to play. The sessions include, boys and girls aged 6 – 13 and also an older group that caters for ages 14 and above. All abilities are welcome with specialised training available if needed.
TJGLKP has been running from Prescot Leisure and Soccer Centre since February 2014 having moved from St Edmund Arrowsmith due to its growth, and has not looked back since.
TJGLKP was set up to offer young people from all areas of Knowsley and Liverpool the opportunity to be part of a community project that would help engage, educate, enhance skills and offer amazing opportunities while helping build our communities.
Working in partnership with Prescot Soccer Centre, Volair and Everton in the Community we offer FREE football to all our participants with coaching and training delivered by fully qualified and experienced Everton coaches. As part of our project and partnership with Everton in the Community we have been able to offer our young people amazing opportunities and experiences that have seen them play at Goodison Park, Finch Farm, Oldham, Blackburn Rovers and also played in tournaments at Aston Villa, Man City, Blackpool and many more football league clubs.
Our young people also had an amazing opportunity to play and tour St George’s Park the home of England football. TJGLKP prides itself on its belief that everybody should have the opportunity to live their dreams. By being part of an amazing project like this all our young people are given these opportunities and more, enabling a greater chance to succeed.
We have seen our numbers make a steady increase over the last 5 years and now we attract up to 50+ participants every week, both girls and boys. We currently have 4 teams representing TJGLKP and have had approximately 70 players of all ages representing us in tournaments across the country.
